New Postulants

On September 1, Feast of St. Teresa Margaret Redi (Discalced Carmelite Nun), Brett Sharp and Charles "Dusty" DeLacey joined our community in a simple ceremony during Vespers.

Brett Sharp, from Whittier, California, attended California State University, Long Beach and worked as Special Events Coordinator with our Carmelite Sisters at Sacred Heart Retreat House.

"Dusty" DeLacey, from Owensboro, Kentucky, joined us during his third year at Franciscan University at Steubenville, Ohio. Dusty is our fourth "Steubie" to enter within the last three years.

Please pray for these men and their final perseverance.

On January 7, our Province accepted seven new Postulants at our Mission in Kyengeza, Uganda. These men joined our four other native African men in formation and brings the number to eleven (1 novice; 3 philosophy students; and 7 postulants).

Our new Postulant brothers are:

Charles Katende
Lawrence Kabali Seire
Joseph Balituddembe
Boniface Matai

Within Evening Prayer Fr. Gerald Werner, Provincial Superior, received two men into our Postulancy: Mr. Richard Castillo (right), of Mammoth Lakes, California and Mr. Marinello Saguin (left), of Los Angeles, California.

On the feast of the patron of our Province, St. Joseph, Charles Nawodylo entered the Postulancy and began his Carmelite life.
